He is soooo cute! .... I have to ask though Bonnie.. how did you end up with the name chicken for a 2? Lol

Well, I rescued Chicken from my inlaws. They were VERY neglectful and would leave him covered up in his tiny cage on the kitchen floor for DAYS at a time. They couldn't handle that cockatoo scream. Well, when I would go to watch movies or hang out with Matthew(my hubby) I would take him out of the cage and clean the poop off his feet and clean out his cage and feed and water him. I would let him 'hang out' with us. Well, the inlaws had named him Bad A**. And they would always tell him they were gonna have a chicken dinner if he didn't shut up. SO... since I HATED his name I always called him my big 'ol chicken. Well, when my prayers were finally answered (GOD has AMAZING timing) I took my big ol Chicken home and kept the name to help lessen the shock of moving and changing owners and cages and all that stuff.

I've thought of changing the name a few times, but I ALWAYS get comments about it, so it stuck. It really fits his quirky personality anyway.... :D

Whenever someones asks about Tiki.. even if they don't ask, I'm like "WELLLL HERE'S the story!!" I can talk about the Fids for HOURS on end. And Anna of course. Anna is like, the godsend that prayed and helped work a miracle on my little Tiki. I still am amazed he pulled through, and so thankful. Tiki is a brat, that much is true, especially now he's going into a heavy molt.. but his antics are great, and i cannot imagine our life without our special babies.

bonnie

I have not decided yet. I have Chicken so darn spoiled I don't know what to get next. I want a mellow, quieter bird. More talkitive. And I want to rehome, not buy.

I'm REALLY leaning that direction... but not yet. I also have that 'wanna baby syndrome'. So I'm only going to have Chicken for awhile. Hubby says either birds or kids. SO... I have to wait for BOTH now!!! :irk:

LOL

Yeah i am not sure I could ever get another bird now that I have Solo.

luckily I have a few others already so my MBS is not as strong.

Besides I can always get Canaries they don't take up much room.:D

Chicken is just SO childlike. People here just do not understand. It's not like saying 'my dog is like a baby'... This bird has SO many complex thoughts and actions and feelings. He is ACTUALLY like having a little kid!

I would love to have a Mexican Redhead. I had one for a few months when I was in middle school. My parents made me get rid of him because he would attack anyone that came near me. I cried for days over that bird.... :(

Toos are definitely like having a little kid, and boy are they ever emotional.

Bonnie I have two Mexican Red Heads. One was found flying free, the other is a 50+ year old guy that Ive had for just over a year. They are great Zons.

They are SO beautiful! They are smart too!! I used to take him in the bathroom with me when i took a shower and he'd perch on the curtain rod and when I left for school I always left the Animal Planet on for him and he'd just watch it! SO cute! That was my first real taste of being a parront... I just didn't have a name for it yet! lol
