Prayers For Mom

Every December a little bug crawls out from the woodwork, bites my mom and suddenly she goes on an insane shopping frenzy. She has been shopping now, relentlessly for almost an entire month and she totally wore me out the one day I went with her, so I can't imagine how she does it every day! My sister called me up this morning demanding that I take mom to the Dr. as she had been feeling a bit light headed all morning. I called up mom to see if she needed some help but she insisted that she was fine. I called her mid afternoon again to check up on her and she informed me that she was certain that she had just been a little bloated but that all was well now. I was hesitant, but i asked her if she might be willing to watch Gabe for a few hours with afternoon while Katie and I ran some errends. I knew how busy she has been so up until today I have been holding off on asking for any favors. She agreed and came and got him a short while later. I got a call from my dad tonight stating that mom started feeling really faint at the mall (where she had been doing MORE shopping) and was being taken to the hospital by ambulance due to her having some heart palpatations. My mom has never been sick before, so i'm pretty worried. And on top of that, I'm feeling really bad about sticking Gabe with her. Please pray that she's ok and it's nothing serious. i'm waiting by the phone, hoping for an update.

Hoping there is a simple diagnosis-your family has had enough to deal with healthwise this year! Praying & hoping all is well & if not we are all here for you-BIG ((hugs)) Now logically you know that leaving her with Gabe had nothing to do with it, no guilt allowed young lady!!!

I called and talked to Anna, they sent her mom home late last night, they are going to run some more tests, but didn't find anything serious last night. They're thinking stress.

Hi everyone...
I know it's later in the day for some of you all and you have been waiting. I just got up :D (since i have a beauitiful little night owl princess.) My mom left the hospital real late last night. They ran a bunch of tests and then sent her home. They didn't find anything and scheduled her for more tests later, but they think she probably just over did it. She was having some bad acid reflux which, to my surprise, can cause your heart to race, I guess. She said she was feeling better when I talked to her late last night. I'm about to run out the door to go get my blood tested at the hospital. They are still testing it weekly to make sure it doesn't turn to soup again.

but the phones have calmed enough that I can get to a small portion of the work on my desk.

Anna - you mentined a few days ago that your Mother was not feeling well and she had a sore throat. I am not a doctor --- but my MIL also has problems with acid reflux. I did not know it - but with her condition of acid reflux... it can cause heart symptoms and it can cause serious lung damage - scaring - which she has as a result of not getting her acid reflux under control with medication.

So - acid reflux can cause "many" problems in addition to sore throat.

I hope she gets on the mend.

Thanks for the info. They put mom on some meds for reflux but they are only helping a little. They are going to run more tests and check her galbladdar...so we'll see. I guess all of the major/serious illnesses have been ruled out.
