:Dgosh she is so full of energy..I have the day off work and just love to get Sam up in the morning--was talking to the breeder where we got her the other night and she said that Sam's mother (blondie) a lutino...says Peek a boo..lol lol guess that is where Sam learned to talk..nope..suspect it is because she is with my hubby all day every day...girl tiels dont talk and are quiet Sam broke the rules and didnt read the manual obviously......the breeder has turned the Mom & Dad into pets and that makes me happy..Sams dad is named silver.--a normal grey tiel.....makes me wonder about all those little breeder birdies you know ..I worry about them....that may sound stupid...but...I do...anyway..Sam is from a long line of female talkers ...lol lol:haha:

Anne, years and years ago I had a tiel, one with the peach cheeks, anyway, my husband started whistling "Dixie" to him (or her???) this went on for at least a year, not a peep out of "OB" until one day, completely out of the blue, he did it! Note for note correct! Never did I hear him "practice" or anything. Then what was really funny was, that wasn't enough for him, my husband only whistled the first few bars so "OB" started adding his own endings which frequently changed...I was always amazed by this. He never talked though. :hihihi:

One of my two teils talks. Tinky says 'thank you', 'peek-a-boo', 'helloooo', 'Tinky-winky-winky-winky-winky-wink' (this goes on forever sometimes), and 'okey-dokey' although I haven't heard that one in a while. They have such cute little voices. My other one really won't give me the time of day let alone talk to me.

I learn so much here! I always was under the impression they were just eye candy and whistlers... They're just so sweet!
