I used to record the birds all the time and play the tape when I left. The tape recorder broke and I have just now replaced it. I found and old tape labeled "Tommie and Fergie." Oh, my goodness. It is wonderful. Fergie could say "bye bye" and was learning to say "hello." You should have heard her eyes pin when she heard it. Unfortunately, it is an old tape and it has deteriorated. It even has some baby sounds on it. It also has some of her giving the macaw warning yell. (She was afraid of hummingbirds, among other things.)

Please make tapes of your birds to listen to later, especially if you have a baby.

Dot you could probably take that tape and get it enhanced and even put on a cd since I believe before we know it tapes will be another thing of the past.:(

I want to get a voice activated recorder to hear what goes on during the day while I'm gone.

You may not want to hear what they have to say while your not there.
