AngelBaby is not a morning bird, she does not want to eat or do anything. Yesterday I weighed her first thing and she was 483 grams which concerned me because it was less than she was when she left the breeder, then she wouldn't eat I tried everything except force feeding J/K. Anyway around lunch time its like she woke up, she pigged out on everything insight and she played and played. I weighed her right before bed and she was 531grams. Now this morning she is back to 483grams and it looks like its going to be a repeat of yesterday. I have heard other people say that their birds are not morning birds but is this normal behavior for some birds.

your best weight will be in the morning when she's had no food yet and has had her morning poop. in the evening you could be weighing more than just bird. ie: a crop full of food, not an accurate weight.
All of my birds are morning birds, that's what they're use to. I think the bird gets use to the household, was her breeder a morning person? I have mine up a 6:45 every moring and they are all ready for food:)

Yes the breeder is she is up and tending to her birds by 6am, but she told me over the past couple of weeks she would have to chase AngelBaby around to get her to eat. So I am thinking this is AngelBaby's choice.

In our flock one is ready and rearing to go at 4am when us to "humans" get up, the too. The other 3 would rather sleep till noon, or at least 10am if given the coice. Especially Duch. She only wants to get up if it is daylight, and sunny....

I would love it if mine would sleep in. even 1 day on the weekend. momma gets up as usual, then goes back later and takes a nap.

Yep, I am spoiled. Hubby will get up and go into the livingroom, put on his headphones and play video games to let me sleep in on the weekends....

Now if I could just get mom to not blow dry her hair till later. The boys think I'm trying to sneak out of the bedroom, when its really not even me!!!

Sounds like my dogs everytime I go to the bathroom they are there at the door unless they get in there before I do. LOL I think they are afraid I am going to escape down the drain (no windows only skylights) LOL
