I wish Cassie enjoyed a shower like that, she hates the shower and can't wait to get out of it. She doesn't like the spray mist either, but she gets both. She's just like a kid LOL

Just a spray bottle with warm water. We bathe the toos every day because otherwsie we have allergies. Up until today Benny has just kind of sat there, neither here nor there about his bath. Today I told him to open his wings and nudged his wing a little. Boy did that work! He went into an all out shower dance and had a great time after that! We'll see if he does it again next time.

Anna - has Benny Bat-Too been DNA sexed???
Looks like a hen to me... I could be wrong - but the narrow head and beak looks female.

I want to say yes but you'll have to ask wanda to confirm that. He sure acted like a male around wanda's girls and sure acts like a male with benny boy.

Hi, I was wondering how you guys blow dry your toos? I have always just sort of misted Angie with warm water, in the sumer when she's outside, I just let her dry on her own but I'm not sure what to so in the winter if I really get her wet. I'd like to shower with her or spray her with my kitchen sink sprayer but she's really get soaked then...not sure how to dry her. She probably needs a goos bath and would really enjoy it...not sure about how she'd respond to the blow dryer though:confused: Thanks
PS....BatToo is beautiful! (just catching up reading old posts!)

My toos respond better to being blow dried than the others. You might just have to try it with angie and see how it goes. Just set her on the bathroom counter or wherever she will be comfortable and be careful not to burn her. Most of my guys do fine with getting doaked as long as it's warm in the house.

I havefound that misting them from above them helps...like stand on a chair so you are higher than them and mist them. They seem to like it better than being shot in the face...hmmm...wonder why? ;)

Cloud loves the blow dryer. After our K9 training, Hunter gets bath because the tick spray irritates his skin. When Cloud hears the blow dryer he carries on til I bring him into the bathroom to supervise. After his shower (cause the dog can't get something without Cloud getting his), I stick his shower perch on the mirror and he does the happy birdy shower dance with the bird in the mirror.

[quote=Jeanie;8076]Hi, I was wondering how you guys blow dry your toos? quote]
I take all three of mine into the shower with me (one at a time), and then wrap each one in a towel and he/she lies on his/her back in my arms or lap, and we cuddle. THey didn't like it at first, but now they do.
My LSC was terrified of a misting bottle. Her former owners used it to discipline her. But I eventually got her used to the shower; and while she doesn't love it, she does tolerate it. I have a shower perch, and I would put her on it, but not in the water spray. She liked being there because I was there. Gradually, I began to sprinkle some drops on her, then more and then finally I held the shower spray upside down on her.
My birds are afraid of the blow dryer except Gyro, who wants to kill it along with everything else that has a motor.
