When we first bought Cody and he was just a baby being hand-fed, he was a real sloppy eater and getting his feathers sticky and stained, so the girl in the store decided to put a bib on him to keep me happy, and that's where it all started, 7 yrs. ago, and from then on, he just loved to put any kind of things on him, hats, bibs, etc., and got used to the routine and thought it was a trick., so now everytime he sees the camera, he gets ready and poses, and of course loves all the attention.

She certainly is not too young to start getting her familiar with things (altho don't start with all of them at the same time). Get her used to being misted, to blow dryers (be sure not to burn her), to being wrapped in a towel, to having her feet lifted and messed with, to being handled by other people. And don't give her anything to eat that you don't want her to eat in the future. If they don't know it exists, they won't want it.
If you want her to be potty-trained, then start that as soon as you can.
Young birds are less willful and more accepting of new things.
As far as talking, some may start very young, but my baby (CAG) did not start talking until she was about 10 months old. Now she learns new words every week and talks constantly.
I wish I were bringing home a baby. It's such a great experience--watching them grow and learning and forming a bond with you.

Evelyn, she is already used to all of those things. She has been handfed since day one and spends a lot of time being sociable around the house. I have been to visit her twice, I just love her so much I want to eat her up. By the way I still have Cassie (aka Casper) never heard another word from sister in law, and hopefully won't.

Chrissy -
Then you have a head start on most people.
Glad you still have Casper. Hope he stays with you. I expect SIL was feeling defensive about not paying you back from their tax refund as they promised, so she thought she would attack first.
