View Full Version : I made banana/ grain sandwiches today!
The Amazons will eat anything, but the macaws don't know what to do with the tiny grains that I soaked overnight. Grains you can start feeding after soaking. I rinsed them several more times tonight, but I don't know if I'll have tails tomorrow or not. Since I can feed them today, I am not worried about it. Back to the 'caws. I sliced bananas and dipped one of the slices into the grains then placed it back with the matching slice to make a sandwich, with grains in the middle. I don't know if any got in Fergie's (Scarlet) beak, but she had them all over her beak. :haha:

What a great idea! I make peanut butter banana sandwiches for the sanctuary birds. Will ave to try adding the sprouts to that.

Think of all the additives in the regular peanut butter. I weigh more than 500 grams and I can handle some additives, but more little birds need someone to drive to the health food store for them. :haha:
