View Full Version : hi from nz
hi whanau(family) rua is my name, and loving our babies is my game.
merry chrisistmas to all , I have four birds one major mitchell. (sweetpea), one greater sulfur creasted (cracker) ,one moustaqche (chrissy), one macaw (buddy) blue and gold, all i inherited from my late aunt jill. soryy all it has taken me a while to get to talk to you all but <I have had matters of state.> and christmas taking my spare time. I aqm sitting sweltering in the heat and watching the tide lapping on the hot sand , also I have a granddaughter..oceana.. who lives in australia...she is pre school age and has just been talking on the phone and has just asked me to pop down to the south pole and ask santa to hurry up.. her reasoning because it is colder here i must be close to the south pole hehe.
I have only been involved in loving babies for only a short while but oh i love these god given creatures...all the babies talk.. they range around the two's in age. the b&g lives in his own room but has a huge safety window so he can be part of us , he has his own t.v and air filters so he will not be dammaged from the dander of the tooz..we wash and put dust coats on when we play and feed him.
for all of you who know me things get better day by day alo the same goes for the babies..had quite a few problems with their grief. but thanks to uncle , got or getting by

Hello again Rua. Glad you and the birds made the trip and are doing well. Lots of changes there but as you have seen, birds can be quite adaptable...and they have you. Birds hang on to all flock members including you and that helps make them secure. How is your new home...hot is right. Need some pics of spring/summer flowers.

Hello Rua -
And welcome. It's so good to hear from you again. I feel as though you and Jill are partly responsible for our having this new board. I hope you can think of it as a memorial to her.
Hope to see you here often.

Rua welcome indeed! So pleased to have you among our flock. Look forward to sharing & caring together. Yes indeed if we had not all cared so for your aunt & her flock we would never have bonded as we have now & would not have this wonderful e-home to share. A living testament to her nurturing nature & ability to overcome great odds. We hope to make that kind of caring available to all our members and to their flocks Too. >:} Jill & Harry

Rua, nice to see a post from you! Glad to hear the birds and you are well. It's cold here, about 23 degrees, I am looking forward to a white Christmas this year as the last 2 have been brown.

Hello Rua,
It is so good to have you here in our new home. Your Auntie Jill would have loved it here. You are among friends.
So - pull up a perch, put up your feet and tell us all about your birds. And please tell us what Christmas is like on the other side of the pond in New Zealand. We want to hear it all. :);):D
I love these smilies.

thank you all, at last i have found you.
christmas day was wonderful we all gathered together, the men laid a hungi( food cooked on hot stones in the ground,)
this was put down 6am, there was the usual kiwi fare, pavalova, trifle, jellies ,lollies ,fizz, and
heaps of presents, the head of the family gave each adult a gift...
when i arrived home there was a stocking over flowing at each cage...some one named a mr cluas..seems to be the only one who will take any responsability......
I may have to spend time in australia, but will keep in touch...we are talking to ausie govt about taking the babies with me...happy new year to you all

Please talk with the NZ government and find out what you have to do to get them back into NZ.
Rua, I'm new here. I hope this doesn't get lost in this long thread and I hope I can find any response you might make.
Do you ever see Keas? I love them. I just finished a book about them (and I never read non-fiction!)
