These are recent pics, she is just now getting to where she will let me take pics of her. Her tummy used to be quite bare still not fully covered but it is better her back is still pretty bare and so is her legs. Her diet left a lot to be desired, she is a seed and junk food junkie, I am slowly breaking her away from the junk food and she will try some fruits and veggies but she is not a big fan of them but we are going forward thats the main thing. I am hoping the vet will be able to give me some insight as to what I may be able to do to turn her around. She is just so loving considering all she has been through.

Was her chest as bare as her back is now?
How long has she been plucked bare.
The reason I am asking - I am trying to find out at what point (length of time) of plucking are the folicles damaged beyond repair.
Baby's chest has been bare for over a year and she does get some pin featheres and downeys that come in but at a point in lenght she plucks them.
I am just trying to figure if there is hope on hope that Baby will refeather.
I have heard of birds having plucked for up to seven years and then refeather. I don't know the truth to that.
It looks like you can provide us some success stories.
I so thankful you are now in the HappyBirdy family.

She has plucked for as long as I have known her and thats close to 8 yrs now. Yes her tummy was quite bare probably more so than the back, when she is wet you can still see she doesn't have many feathers there. I dont think she will ever be totally covered in feathers but I am hoping and praying she will get somewhat better.
Larry theres a post over on that other place that might interest you. Its about plucking.
