....noticed this behaviour????? my african grey threw a huge temper tamp...yesterday because I removed a RED cymbidium out of the bird room????? he loves the colour RED and eats red food first and steals anything red he can find....but I think the flower was over the top....hubby could only stand the screams for half an hour, so he put a pink orchid in the room...wait for it...you guessed it...more screams and fit throwing...so back to the hot house goes gordon and in came a RED plant...alls well whew...at this point in time we are searching "trade me" for an imitation RED cymbidium..for emergencies:rofl::rofl:

From my observations Grey do not like change-may not be just the red color but the fact you moved and changed out the plant.

My grey is the same way, she hates any sort of change. The only place she welcomes change is when we offer her new cardboard boxes to replace the old sky-light ridden old ones.

thank you ,,we nver noticed that change upset ZULU so mutch....he was upset when we moved jack into the lounge...he could not cope with his blindness and being with other birds...jack is now a very happy sightless too...as he spent all his life in the lounge....he now to our suprise says whre we are going to put him for playtime ..he will say chair if i move him one way or stand if we move another way...this is thanks to all who advised us to tell himm what we are doing with him....if anyone knocks on the door he answers "heooooooo jack" as this is what all the family says so he is nhot surprised....the only down side is after all these years he will not now tolerate children...
