I live in Pompano Beach, Florida, he is a Jardine, sparkling green with black
scalloping on the body and orange on his head and the shoulders of his wings, He got out of his locked cage yesterday. I don't know exactly what time as we found Zuri out when we did feeds and waters in the evening at about 6:30. The streets would be 40th St and 13th Avenue nearest big streets would be Sample Road and Federal Highway. He is not banded, but not many people have Jardines so I'm sure if one is found, it would be mine. He also purrs and says Helllo.
I am just heartbroken....when we were out doing foods and waters I was horrified to see my lesser Jardine hanging on the outside of the cage...I really couldn't believe what I was seeing. All of the feeding stations were closed and latched, but the nestbox which I had taken off to give her a break from laying, and that I had latched was wide open....the little hen, Zuri then flew under the racks and I couldn't see where she went....I ran to the house to call Cal, and turned and there she was on the ground. She and her mate, Jo Jo were pets for the first 3 years of their lives, so I knelt down and offered her my hand, and wonders of wonders she climbed on and I was able to take her back to her cage...
Her wonderful young mate, Jo Jo is still missing......my heart is breaking when I think of him out there alone and scared...
This was a wonderful young pair that had produced their first chicks this
year....
Pray for him that he comes back....thanks.
