:confused::cool: We had freezing rain over night and are now under 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice. I still have power but there are outages all over the state.

My poor little trees... I hope they make i.

So I was talking to hubby and he said he probubly wouldn't make it home, I would have to go out and make the generator run  it's full of bad gas and won't start... So I put on my headset and by instruction am in the process of fixing the thing myself. 1st thing gotta get out the salamander heater to warm it up to drain the gas :ugh: then get the gas draining, find what ever a carburator is and take it apart to clean it out, gotta charge the battery so go find the charger. A mechanic I am NOT! But if we lose power it's up to me to keep us all warm. Right now the gas is still trickling from a almost full tank. WHY does gas have to go bad?
I'll update the progress later when I come back in from the garage.

I just saw a new product on the tv (like a home repair/gadget type program) where they have started marketing a little container of stuff that you add to the gas if it has gone bad. Are you able to get out? If so, you might check out auto parts stores or maybe if you have a shop that sells snow blowers/lawnmowers and see if they might have it. Sorry, I don't even have a name of the product.

Ummm get out? I can get to the garage, the car is iced shut and the nearest anything even a gas station is 15 miles away... nope, kinda on my own here. Thankfully though temps are to rise overnight and be justabove freezing tomorrow. I'll look for that stuff though next time I'm out and about and have some on hand.
If I get into serious trouble I can call my BIL, he'll come by and help if he's around.

Gas trickling -- that doesn't sound good at all. Even bad gas can make a very loud BOOM! Try to get that gas leak stopped - pronto.

I heard from Brenda last night. She said that she had lost all power, and that hubby was on his way home. I'll let you all know if I hear anything first.

I am at work, We are ok. Hubby came home and still could not get the generator running, so he is working on it today.

** If you all have one make sure it works BEFORE you need it!**

We were without power for 6 hours, but did ok. It came back on by the time the house got down to 67* :bburr: for us and poor Syd was shivering the rest did ok as I had cages covered with blankets to help trap some of the heat in.

Hubby just called and it is now running, so if I need it again I will have it. Lights are blinking so...
