I was about to post an update on Baby and her egg when I saw your post asking about her.

She laid her egg on Dec 23rd. She sat on that egg for most of everyday for almost 3 weeks. She didn't even take time to eat much. She lost some weight but not enough to concern me. And then on the 3rd week she sat on the egg less and less.

A couple days ago she pecked the egg and broke it on two sides and then dumped the basket, blanket, and egg on the floor.

It seems she said,,, this egg is a dud and I'm not going to spend any more time with it.

I try my best to use the "nature's" philosophy -- let nature take its course. Birds are supposed to lay eggs, birds are supposed to sit on those eggs, and if they are not going to hatch in the appropriate time frame then move on.
