Here in Florida, I have my birds in a bird room that is not heated or cooled. Prior to this, my birds have always been in A/C or heat. We moved here at the end of October and the temperatures have only gone down to the low 60s at night so far, with the exception of one night when it dipped into the mid 50s.
My question is: at what temperature should I bring in the birds at night? I think I would bring my small birds in next time it gets into the 50s. What about Linus and Theo? Given their history, how cold is too cold for them, not just for their safety, but also for their comfort?

What did you keep your temps at in the apt? I myself wouldn't go below 65* it's what your bird is accustomed to. Breeders house theirs outside through the winter but provide nests and shelter.

I don't know what the temp was exactly in Austin. Cool in the summer, warm in the winter. lol They seem comfortable with the overnight 60s temps. The macaws, rosies and grey stay out year round, but are brought in when it gets below freezing, which is not that often here. I'm not comfortable leaving mine out in the 40s either.
The temperature decline has pretty gradual here so far and I think they are fine right now. I have spare cages to set up for inside and overnight stays. I just love that they have all the light and fresh air.
