It was amazing. It was a video of a nest box of a pair of Cuban Amazons (I'm still tired because I almost typed "Cuban Macaws," so if I mess up, just tell me. Actually, the video started with copulation. Then it showed the hen on the egg with the male feeding the hen. It was amazing to see how fast the little baby grew. It covered about 52 days - something like that. On the sixth day the male started feeding the chick and the hen would be submissive and just turn her head. Finally the little chick decided he wanted to see what was outside that hole that dad and mom went out of. He got to the ladder (I don't think that is what it is called) and the first day got his beak and one foot on it. That took five minutes. Obviously Nancy Speed only showed us about 30 second clips. On day number X the chick started flapping those wings, such as they were. LOL Finally he made it to the ledge. I hesitate to say how many attempts it took and how long the attempts took. She did share that information, but I can't remember. After all of the video, she took his attempts to climb out of the nest box and sped it up 400 times so that when he fell, you could barely see it. She played that part for us and it was titled "I'm gonna fly" and she used the theme song from Rocky. It was a hoot.
After that video, by popular request, she showed a video she had shown before on Sun Conures copulating. Oh, my goodness, it was such a hoot. When they were trying to figure out how to do it, she said it was amazing they ever had any chicks. Finally they figured it out and they went at it. When they finished, the hen climbed out of the nest box, but the male collapsed on the floor of the nest box and did not move. It was so funny.
