Sometimes when I am working with a bird I notice certain little qualities about that animal that might be fun to try to turn into a trick.
Dolly (Wanda's M2) prefers to be perched on your left arm or on the left side of whoever is holding her. If you have her perched on your right side, she likes to put her foot up as a way of asking to be moved to your left. Dolly is very smart and seems to love learning new things, so I have decided to work with her to learn new "games" as she really seems to enjoy this type of socializing and isn't a huge fan of cuddling with me. I had Dolly sitting on the right side of my rocking chair tonight and she requested to be moved to the left. I decided it might be fun to make a game out of it instead so every time she put her right foot out I touched her foot and said "high 4." After some practice I then started asking for her foot by saying "High 4" and she would offer her foot. She's such a fast learner. We are also working on "Brush your teeth" like peggy sue does and she is doing great with reaching down and rubbing her beak on things and making the "Whoosh-whoosh" sound. I wasn't able to get it on video this time, but we'll practice some more if it's ok with Wanda.
