Here is Taco, our Mealy amazon. Hubby's bird for sure, he doesn't seem to like me much but will allow scritches through the cage bars and I can keep my fingers as long as I'm quick enough to keep them out of his way.

How neat you have a Blue Crowned Mealy, we used to have a regular Mealy Amazon it hated my husband. Mark has the right touch.

they must be quite rare, I can never find much info about them and rarely see pictures. I think Taco is of the age the he may have been wild caught, he's 26 yrs old and I believe originally came from CA. His previous owner seemed scared of him when we went to pick him up, as he wouldn't touch jim just dumped him out of a small carrier cage that he had him in for when we arrived. How he got him in there I'll never know. The poor bird seemed terrified.
Here is a picture of Taco when we 1st got him. Doesn't look like the same bird.
