Abused tiel on tiel talk needs your urgent prayers!!!!

Liz lives in South Africa..she went into a pet store & saw a tiel in a cage with no food no water bleeding from the foot and mouth feathers ripped right out of her head she rescued that tiel and has been nursing her for four days ...vet has her on pain killers antibiotics etc..says her feathers and crest were pulled out BY HUMANHANDS...dear god in heaven...the birdie also has pneumonia..and a huge gash on her foot..she is getting better gradually, not so much congestion and seems to be perking up...until tonight.she has taken a turn for the worse..this little birdie named Patches just is in love with Liz and cuddles with her..like the first time in her tortured life that someone has cared for her..Please everyone on happy birdy pray for little Patches..she must make it and live a happy life in her new home..she deserves to live.

good news..she made it....Liz let her sleep a little longer ...she usually only sleeps on Liz's chest...she does go in her cage but keeps falling..so I suggested a flat platform for her like the ones lFetcher our crippled finch has...she has rallied this morning she is sitting preening and whistling to Liz's other birds....thank god...you should see the pictures on tiel talk guys..enough to make you vomit...that poor little girlie has no crest and the entire back of her head is bald and all around her neck..you can tell human handsdid it ....Liz's vet filed a police report against the pet store..Liz said they were smoking cigarettes and laughing when she found the bird...she wants them shut down as there are other animals & birds in there but none as bad as this little one was..I think Patches will make it..they know she is a girl because they flippantly remarked oh she laid an egg...excuse me I would like to think that hell has a special place reserved for people like that where a demon plucks the hair out of their head for eternity...

Glad Patches is doing better. Your information made me visit Tiel Talk and I was keeping an eye out as well. I agree those pictures are very madning!!! I sure hope they can get that place shut down. Thanks for the update.

Patches seems to be rallying every day....Liz put her with the other birds...of course she is far away from them in her own cage...Liz put her in the sun where it is warm and Patches perked right up and started preening herself..the first time she preened since Liz brought her home..and she ate quite a bit..looks like this little one will make it...poor girl...I cannot believe people are sooooooo cruel...just horrifying.....thanks for all the prayers guys and thanks for not being upset that i mentioned tiel talk..I knew you guys would all care no matter what.

update...
I had Patches back at the vets today. The young lady was not there but the elderly lady vet who helped me with Hope was there. This lady is the one i originally wanted Patches to see.
When i told her i would like Patches to be put on Nystatin. After a thorough examination of inside the beak and then of Patches lungs etc, this was the vets verdict-
She does not have yeast problems but still is not over the pneumonia. Her nose which is as of yet not completely unblocked, and her lungs still have not cleared completely. She has diagnosed the runny droppings that are dark green as abit of diaree. And that is caused by all the gunk in her body.She has put her on a differant antibiotics and has given me nasal flush meds which i must use on Patches 3 times a day. She has also given de-worming meds. She checked her foot and said it is healing very nicely. We must be back tomorrow morning for final injection and then i am getting antibiotic drops which i must give daily.

Now here comes the HAPPY news...........Patches has started eating a few seeds on her own. I was so upset because i missed this big event, as i was fetching my children from school, but my husband did take a video clip for me to watch.How jealous i felt when i saw it and hubby was here with her and not me!!!!!!!!!!! She has eaten 15ml of formula so far today. She is defniately on the mend. I even put probiotics in her formula. She is a much better birdie today. -----and now she posts that when Patches doesnt like something she bites her nose. lol...oh dear god I have tears running down my face and the biggest silly grin...
