It's been years that I've been with Elliott and they have always been known as my birds.Well it's been months and I have been talking with Larry regarding the relationship between Elliott and Beau(our YNA.)Well finally the other night Elliott admitted to being owned by Beau and him owning Beau. This is a very big step for someone who isn't a bird person. You see all things are possible!:yeah:

Sashagirl-

Congratulations! Now, can you talk him into coming with us to New Mexico to see Anna? We'll finish the job.

How do the two of you take care of all those birds? My three and sometimes four when my U2 is with me keep me hopping.

Do you have a separate aviary, or a bird room, or are the cages in your house? Mine are in our family room where we spend 3/4 of our time. They frequently eat with us. Do they all have cages? I cannot imagine cleaning that many cages?

I have a friend who has 18 (soon to be 20--she's getting a hyacinth and a scarlet macaw); but she is retired; and she has an huge indoor aviary and family to help out. Actually, she enclosed a porch which has windows on two sides, and two passageways into the house. She has never bought a bird. She started about 18 years ago when the SPCA where she lived asked her to take some birds (inlcuding two hyacinths) from a house they raided. They were all in terrible shape, and some couldn't be saved, but she still has the ones that did live. She doesn't go looking for birds, but somehow they find her. She doesn't breed them or sell them. Once in a great while she might give one to a special friend who has fallen in love with it. She is the one who has my U2 Gyro when I don't.

If you haven't already done so, do you have photos of your birds you can post? I'd love to see them. I can't handle anymore right now because I keep a cage empty for Phoenix Landing when they need a foster home, but I would love to have a female Ekkie. I think they are so beautiful! I had a chance to buy one a couple of years ago. It was between the Ekkie and a baby Goffin's. The Goffin's won out because everytime I got near her she would jump on me. I haven't regretted it--just wish I could have bought both of them.

I'm rambling. Let's have pictures! Especially anything you think might be suitable for our Picture Book.

Looks like my hubby is contageous. You all remember that it's HIM and not ME when some man comes looking for the one responsible, ok?

Well for those that want to know there is no outside aviary all these birds are kept in our house in cages. Some share and some in separate cages. We do have a birdroom which the 4 large Macaws have destroyed:obut what can you do that's what happens when you have birds. They are basically spread throughout our 3 bedroom 2 floor house. The room off from the kitchen is where the 4 Macaws are kept along with 2 BFA.In the livingroom are 2 Hahn's Macaws,Jenday Conure,Senegal,3 of the Greys.Upstairs in the sittingroom are several cages which house, the Eclectus's,the Greys and a cage with a Quaker,a Cherry Head Conure. In our bedroom is Elliott's bird Beau the YNA.We are in the process of moving cages around. And in the future converting the garage into a room.As you see we could use the room.We do have a spare room but we're using that for a ham radio room and in hopes of starting a human family.;)I will post pictures as soon as I can figure out how.I'm not exactly computer savvy.

Would love to see pictures. I am always looking for ways to improve my birds' environment: a different arrangement of playstands, different outside toys (meaning outside the cage), etc.

Sasha it sounds like a lively household. Harry would be so jealous if he had to share with so many others. You and Anna must really have your hands full running from bird to bird to give attention.:bouncing:Would love to see some Macaw Photos please.

Say hi to Mary at Phoenix landing. I have known her by internet chat for about 9 years. One group we are on together does a secret Santa each year which is just awesome.

Gracie, my handicapped female ekkie, is just a doll. I am going to parrot fest to meet a couple of people today and will be bringing Sadie (B&G) Mary really never held large macaws, but she held Sadie and Sadie liked her. Actually Mary tried to escaped with Fait, LSC timor too.

The other two birds I will take are Gracie, ekkie and Nadia, white bellied caique.
Hope to meet up with Dot
