Linus had his xrays

I took Linus to the vet this morning. His xrays were good- no metal. I feel so much better knowing that. It doesn't mean he didn't ingest any, but there's nothing in his system now. He's eating well, poops are fine, behavior is normal. We got lucky.
For the record, his escape was MY fault. I had left the key in the padlock when I went to work. He knows how to turn it and pull the lock away. This is how he got out a few years ago when he attacked on of my teils through their cage bars. My negligence could've caused serious problems for all my birds. I feel horrible.

Don't waste time & energy beating yourself up just use this as a reminder of how clever he is & how important it is to keep him locked up when you have Too. >:} Take picture of some chewed wire or a piece of that wire & put it on or near the door you leave by. Good reminder.

Patty! I'm so very glad to hear that Linus is ok and didn't end up with a gut full of metal. Honestly, we are all human and each of us makes mistakes. We all forget and even more, we all make choices that we regret sometimes. I certainly understand you feeling bad, and I would have felt horrible too, but keep in mind that you aren't always perfect. You did the right thing by having Linus checked out and that really counts for something!!! Thanks for the good news and you tell that crazy bird to stay out of trouble!!! :p

Accidents happen... that's why they are called accidents. We're all only human. I've certainly had my share of "oops! Oh no!"s, too!
