Sorry I have been so quiet lately, but the birds and I had been living in a small apartment while our bathroom was totally gutted and remodeled. Yes I did say 3 month. It looks very nice, but due to different complications, miscommunication it took way too long. The man said he could get started after Thanksgiving and so we moved out the last weekend of Nov. into a back apartment that adjoined a friends new house. She was getting divorces, just moved in with her 2 daughters. Well we moved in last weekend very quickly and this weekend I was cleaning and still unpacking!!! Even tho it was a very long and hard 3 months, the Lord had it happen for a reason. My friend and her daughters really need a great distraction, moral support, someone to just listen and lean on, and some extra financial support to get started. The girls also needed someone to help them keep up with homework while mom was struggling with life. So the oldest, Maranda (who is also in my math class) usually came up stairs each night to do homework with me.

Maranda, 14, and Lindsay, 9 just love my birds and loved to help me put them to bed and wake them in the morning. They loved to play with Bebe(military macaw) the most and Bebe LOVED them!!!!!! Bebe has always been aggressive, but Bebe would let those girls hold her and sometimes even love her!!!!!! It was amazing!!!!! The girls learned how hard it was to take care of animals, especially birds. At first they wanted Bebe to stay with them, but now they would love to have a cockatiel some day. Maranda comes over now and spends time with the birds. Of course Bebe cannot wait to see her.

The cockatoos had the small bedroom together and they did very well together. If you remember I tried to rehome Zoey (U2) but it did not work. Well Zoey is starting to cuddle like she use to and seems a bit more relaxed since the experience. Faile (TAG) also picked up on some new sounds and words. She loved the bark of the little dog next door.

Hopefully I will be able to keep up with all the messages once again. It is good to be back home.

Nice to see you! I wondered how the project was comming along. Sounds like you were a great help to your friend and her kids, plus the birds have some new friends.
