I have been meaning to take videos of a lot of the fun things I tought Peggy incase something should ever happen to her. Then I would have these precious moments captured and could always cherish the time I had with my baby girl. I finally got around to taking videos today so here are some of the fun things peggy says and does. I want to see what your babies do, hint, hint!

Beak and Foot: Peggy can identify parts of her body.

Brush Your Teeth: Cleans her beak while saying brush your teeth (complete with whoosh, whoosh noises).

Colors: Peggy can identify blue, yellow, green, red, and sometimes a few other colors. She points to random things with her beak (like her food bowl) announcing the color.

Hello & Buh-Bye: She also says "how are you?" She loves the phone.
http://s197.photobucket.com/albums/aa154/Foxersartist/Birdy%20Videos/?action=view&current=HelloBuh-bye.flv
I can Talk, can you fly?: HeHeHe...smarty.
http://s197.photobucket.com/albums/aa154/Foxersartist/Birdy%20Videos/?action=view&current=ICanTalk.flv
Is it good?: She also says "Mmmm!" but not today.
http://s197.photobucket.com/albums/aa154/Foxersartist/Birdy%20Videos/?action=view&current=IsitGood.flv
Give me a kiss: This is how she learned the difference between give and take.
http://s197.photobucket.com/albums/aa154/Foxersartist/Birdy%20Videos/?action=view&current=Kiss.flv
I Love You: She also says "where's momma's pretty bird?" I hear all of these when she is trying to tell me how happy and loved she feels. It makes me feel loved.
http://s197.photobucket.com/albums/aa154/Foxersartist/Birdy%20Videos/?action=view&current=LoveYouPrettyBird.flv
Pirate Peggy: Her previous owner worked really hard teaching her pirate phrases. We were amused when she showed up saying "Aye Aye Cap'in" and "shiver me timbers."
http://s197.photobucket.com/albums/aa154/Foxersartist/Birdy%20Videos/?action=view&current=PiratePeggy.flv
Singing: She has two modes, belting out and humming. She chose to be loud today.

I'm amazed if you made it to the bottom of this post. I'm sorry for posting them all at once, though I probably would have forgotten which ones I shared later so I just decided to post them all at once.

I loved those videos. Peggy Sue is really smart! It still amazes me how she recognizes colour. How did you first go about doing this? I would like to try it with Cody' but while he says a few words, he doesn't speak on command only when he feels like it.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Peggy Sue, and hearing her say, “Brush you teeth”
I have also talked to her on the phone and heard her say, ”Hello, how are you? & buh-bye”
Somewhere there’s also a video of Peggy Sue singing Peggy Sue, I know, I’ve seen it.
Can you tell I’m sweet on her too? She always has a place at my house if she would ever need one.

I Can’t wait for July! I’m so excited!

Here’s one of the pics I took of Peggy Sue while they were here visiting. For those who don’t know the story, this last summer when Anna & Andy went on vacation they passed through and stopped by where I work and we had lunch.

Sandi,
when I first started working with peggy to learn her colors, I sat down with her in the bathroom or on the couch with a toy she was comfortable with. I think I used those little plastic stacking cups. First I thought it would be important for her to learn how to say "what color?" and to name a few colors. I tried to teach her the concept of colors by showing her a variety of objects that were the same color, so she would know I wasn't trying to name the item. After she learned to say "what color?" I would hold up those stacking cups one at a time and slowly say the color. If she said the wrong color I shook my head no. If she said the right color I told her yes and praised her. She doesn't always get the right color when she points, but she does most of the time when she knows that we're playing the color game. Once Andy was playing the color game with her and pointed to something white and asked her what color it was. He said "White, peggy." Peggy shook her head "no" and said "What color?" and then very slowly tried to sound the word out as if she were teaching him "Yell-oooo-wwww." Who is teaching who?

It's just another tactic to lure us into her nest of cuteness! Where then she will get proper dna samples and send them to the mothership :) LOL j/k. Peggy is the best Macaw ever. I just love her.. if every b&g were like her.. I'd have 12
