Julie,
That is beautiful stitching. How many breaks did you take in that three years? lol. I cross stich as well, but mostly blankets. About one a year I have a hard time doing and I start a different one. It seems the ones that take the most amount of time, and are harder to commit to always turn out the best.
Great work!! :D

Hurray, Julie! I remember when you were working on that last year! It's soooo beautiful!!! I can't imagine how anyone can do something like the little one you made of Peggy Sue, let alone something massive like that! That is just too, too cool! :)vSo how does it feel to be done? what's next? HeHe, you probably don't want to think about that right now! :p

It's beautiful! I don't have the patience to do things like that, my sister does, and a couple years ago she did one on a black background with a pair of macaws on it.

The first break from the project was because my mom asked for a cross stitch stocking (took me a year). I also made a couple "travel" size cross stitch while "stuck at the MIL's" or when I am stuck in an airport. Anna, the Peggy Sue is a "travel" size one. Other than that it really took me about 2 years to do. Of course that is because all of my fids like to sit and try to play with the thread as I am on the couch!
Next project is another Christmas stocking. When my step-mom was sewing together the final pieces for the last stocking I made (she is an expert seam-stress) she keept dropping BIG HINTS about how she has wanted a new one for years.... GOT the hint mom! I'll try to remember to post that picture when I'm done with that one too!
Liza, how in the world do you commit to a full blanket? I had a hard time with one this size let alone something that covers a full bead! I would much rather do something smaller and more intricate, because I dont think I could ever finish!
