Just as we were getting rid of some of our snow and ice… it SNOWED :frozen:again last night. I think we got somewhere between 4” to 6”, hard to tell with the blowing and drifting.
Stella and I went to look out the kitchen window at all the whiteness this morning, she opened her beak in aww, then tossed back her head, flunge open her wings, and screamed with glee at the snow! She thought it was a great sight. Silly bird. I told her momma had to go drive in that yucky stuff.

Silly bird is for sure. I think my birds would be scared to death of the stuff, since we get it so often out here in CA!!!!!

Hey Brenda,
You could send some here to Ohio. We only have about 2 inches on the ground. We haven't really had any major storms yet, and the kids want to play in it lol.
Is Stella still clipped? How was she after you had it done? I am seriously considering having Gracie clipped in the Spring. She needs to learn some manners:( But at the same time I really don't want to mess her up emotionally as she has always been flighted. Any advice on this subject would be great!

I would be happy to share the snow!
Stella's wing feathers have grown back, and she's getting some bad habits again. The clipping calmed her down quite a bit, and since the vet did it, she didn't blame momma:) I hesitated clipping for the same reason you haven't had Gracie clipped. By the way, how is the little darling? I am going to have Stella clipped as soon as the weather warms up, no sense in taking her out in the cold on bad roads when it can wait til spring thaw! BTW... I 1st had the 1st 3 feathers clipped, she still could get a bit of lift, I should have had the 1st 4 clipped.

What's snow again? We haven't seen much of that stuff around here this year. I wan a great big storm so I can look out the window and remember it's actually winter! The sun does it's false advertising thing. You look outside and it looks nice and sunny and warm, but step outside and Brrrrrr!!!

Brenda,
Gracie is wonderful. She's as ornery as always. I am just trying to get rid of some of her bad habits. But nothing is working. I have tried and tried to teach her to stay on her gyms, and in one room. But it's sort of a joke lol. They are definitely like having another 2 year old running around. I will have to post some pictures of her and Trixie soon. I have been neglecting my camera :haha:

Liza, my take on trying to get an Umbie to stay on a gym is like trying to teach a dog not to poop on the ground.
I think they are wired to seek adventure. They get bored easily and have to get down to be with Mommy. Just my experience. ;)
