This reporter contacted me today. She has written several news articles on lead in toys and household items. She interviewed me at length and I have also emailed her tons of information that will be of help to her to get the message out to the public.

and to think Larry that when we were young, we probably ingested it by the ton..not to mention the lead in paint that we painted our walls with...

That is great news Larry. I hope she can get more notice out there... its so sad how many people have turned a blind eye to it.

It is not only sad but frightening. And the ones who should not turn a blind eye to heavy metal toxins are bird owners.

I do see that this thread has had very fiew views. I wish more people would take more of an interest. But sometimes we just don't want to face bad news. It is more pleasant to do other things.

Who knew a year ago that we would all be so concerned about the safety of the cages & toys we buy to house our much loved pets. This information may save lives if enough people become aware of the issue. Maybe more Veterinarians will pay more attention to metal toxicity when a bird presents with symptoms that are sometimes hard to diagnose-shivering, plucking lethargy ect.
