question on disable smilies in text

If I put a check in the "Disable smilies in text" box, would it disable them for my post only or for the entire thread?

This is not a complaint, so please do not take it as one. I'm trying to figure a way to encourage people to post in the fun/silly threads. It is just too easy to :cool::cool::D. LOL

I think it makes it so you don't see the smilies in other posts. so it would look like ; ) I think. Never tried it. I'm pretty sure it only affects you- not other people- just how you see the thread. So I think you are stuck with them for now.

I love the smilies, but feel so silly some times so I try to not use them as often as I would normally...
