Tonight I was gathering clothes to put in the washer and I thought it might be nice to see if I could get Gabe to help. I put all the clothes in a pile, started the washer and had him pick up a piece at a time. I lifted him up so he could drop each piece into the wash and he giggled. After it was all loaded, gabe ran out and closed the laundry doors behind him, leaving me inside the wash closet to hang out with the dirty laundry. :haha:

I tried to get him to help pick up all the books he had pulled off the bookshelf too, but he was more into dragging his blankie around at that point. We'll work on books another night.

Too cute. It reminds me of when my best friend's son was about Gabe's age. Scottie had a Binkie (a stuffed something or other). From time to time it had to be washed. Once Scottie wanted to know where his Binkie was and they just happened to be near the washing machine, so Linda lifted the lid and said, "Binkie has gone to the south of France to take the baths." ;) (And you folks think I have a weird sense of humor.) Scottie looked in that washing machine, and the lad through a fit. Linda never showed him again.

HaHa!
I guess the only way you can really respond to something like that is to laugh it off! Kids and birds...they always seem to destroy stuff...but they were only trying to help. Ever since gabe say mom painting a pretty mural on the wall in Katies room, he has been trying to draw on the wall with anything he's got...a bottle, a pencil, an apple slice...whatever. I'm just WAITING for the BIG mess. I know it's coming. So what did you do? Vacuum out the soap with an extension hose or...?

BTW- while we're on the topic of Gabe...
does anyone know how much a toddler should eat? We struggled with Gabe to eat ANYTHING until he was a little over a year old. It was a constant, tearful battle for everyone! Now that he's eating less baby food from the jar and into fresh foods, he eats more than andy or I at every meal. For instance, tonight for dinner he had a whole chicken leg, a whole chicken thigh, some cheerios, some carrots, a 4oz container of yogurt and he slugged down about 5 ounces of water. How is this possible? I'm actually a little concerned that he is eating too much at once, but he has a really hard time putting on weight (he's still wearing 12 months sized clothes and is 18 months) and throws a major fit if I take him out of his high chair before he's "all done." Anyone know?

All the baby Docs say that if you let them eat they will self regulate. When mine were small I skipped the baby food they just ate mashed up whatever we had w/o the seasonings. Like our birds. I dispaired of my 2nd child ever eating anything but cereal or bread he even pulled the toppings off pizza and ate only the bread part. He is now in his 20's a little over six ft. tall weighs about 160 and is willing to at least taste anything and has a very discriminating palate. I think you have to feed them like the birds -frequently-maybe a protien snack, yougurt or some fruits & cereals between meals. A pretty veggie snack like celery, apple or carrot curls with some almond butter (p-nut butter) or cashew butter. Had four kids so I have tried about everything. They all loved chinese food & ramen noodles.
