Hi everyone...Im new here so, I just wanted to say hi and introduce my baby. She is (I believe) a fallow cockatiel and she is a DNA proven female. Her name is Star. She will be 7yrs old in approx two weeks. She does have kidney disease but it is being managed with diet as of right now and otherwise is a healthy, happy, and SPOILED birdy.
I will attempt to post a picture. We see if I do it correctly. lol

Those tiels are always sooo pretty. She looks like a real sweety. Has your vet suggested anything other than diet to manage the disease. I would be curious to know. Thanks for the picture!

We keep track of her uric acid level and if it gets out of range, then she will be put on medication for the rest of her life. But <crosses fingers> so far...her levels have been within acceptible range.

Hello Pebs & welcome..Star is a pretty girl & My Prescot says so too..I am owned by Bambam(m2) Chantz (tiel) & Prescot (tiel)..tiels are easy to tame..teach new tricks..also quieter than a too. The too is the loudest..most demanding bird I have ever had; yet I love him dearly...thought I'd let you know..just in case you wanted a too.

Pebs, you have managed to confuse the village idiot. Don't worry. You are in good company and it is so easy to do.

I thought you did a DNA test for gender, but if the bird was part of a couple that produced babies, they are a proven pair. Someone correct me please on how all these big words go together. LOL

Dot, Star is the only bird I have. She is not part of a "pair". I think u have me confused with someone else.
I did do a DNA test on her years ago and she is a dna proven female was all I was saying.
