Peggy told us about this book and Larry chased down where to buy it so that The Gabriel Foundation received money for it. I got mine today and the poems are adorable. Too cute.

But, I will not leave it in the Habitat where curious beaks might find it. It was printed in China. My friend Cara told me that it practically takes an act of God for Houghton Mifflin to publish a kiddie book. I just don't trust China to take that care, so I don't want mine chewing on pages.

Peggy, thanks for the title. The poems are precious.

Glad you like it Dot. My flock does enjoy it. Good for me too. slows me down to take time and they birds really enjoy it. I have been reading it to them for a week now. Wondering what they will be learning to say first.

I told them the story of the Scarlet Macaw that discovered "night" yesterday and they listened intently, especially Fergie. When I tell "How Blusher came to live in Louisiana," Blusher gets the following words or parts of words in the right place. "Fly" the first part of her dad's name "Fly Boy." "Blusher" when I say and inside this tiny egg was a tiny bird that would grow up to be Blusher. "That's my bird" when I shout "That's my bird." "Splat" as Old Girl kicks the eggs out of the nest. She does some of the numbers 1, 2, and 3, but I never know which one she will do. That's all that I can think of now.
