I justed wanted to say Hi and tell a little about myself and the birds that own me. My husband and I have 2u2's Sugar and Casper. Sugar is my spoiled baby and Casper is one we took in as her other owners could not keep her. My husband has a lsc that owns him. That would be Angel. We also raise birds. We raise cocketails, lovebirds, parrotlets, 2 kinds of conures, blue headed poinus and hopefully our blue ringneck parekeets will nest soon.
I stay at home taking care of my disabled husband and the birds that own us along with my mother who lives with us.
Well got to go for now thanks for letting me join

I am glad to hear from so many TT that are not there any more.
I am really happy to say i have 3 baby blue headed poinus that are really getting to be fun. They are all feathered out now and are flapping and should soon be flying and i can not wait.
I got a question My mother in law wants a bird about the size of and cocketail but without dust. Does any one have any ideas??? It needs to be hugable like a too but small as a cocketail. My husband and I are at a lost of what kind to get her. She has had 2 parrotlets but they are just not the right bird for her. Please give me some ideas.
Thanks Michelle (Sugarsmomma)

Hi Michelle! It's great to meet you and hear about your U2s!
Three blue head pionus?!?! Oh Michelle! They sound adorable! I hope you will post pictures! I'm a sucker for a pi!
Size of a 'tiel, sweet as a 'tiel, but with no dust... hm... wow. That is a tough one!

Three baby Pis... how fun!! I always loved seeing babies figure out how to fly for the first time. So sweet!
What kind of personality would she want? Playful, quiet, cuddly, etc? A green cheek conure comes to mind but Ive never had one so I cant vouch for their personalities. They seem incredibly cute though. Smaller and not as loud (relatively peaking) as the other types of conures.

I'm going to give a suggestion that may be a shot in the dark...but oh well. We adopted our indian ringneck parakeet when she was 2 1/2 months old and she has just been a doll. She is wonderfully cuddly, social, playful, and talkative. I haven't met many ringnecks who are as sweet as her, but picking the right one with passive qualities would be key. They are fabulous companions when you get a socialized baby and spend lots of time loving them.

i thought of them too. we have a pair that i hope will go to nest soon and my husband's mom was here and said that they are to noisy for her. i don't know what to try but i guess she is not in a hurry so maybe we (the member of this group and i ) can think of some kind of bird that is huggbal, friendly, neat, about cocketail size. any help would be much thanked for.

I like your name - sugarsmama. It reminds me of my RFM. She says "sugarbutt" all the time, but she has also called me "sugarmama."

How about a fiery shoulder conure. Not of the arratinga group (noisy group). I enjoy the little conures. They just love riding around with you, maybe hide inside your shirt etc. Don at Donsbirds.com breeds this species. Almost got one from Don then he taunted me by posting a pic of a too (Tony lol). Don knows a LOT about conures and saide these are the nicest of the group.
