K-i-s-s-i-n-g...

I haven't written much about Lucy, Wanda's CAG, mostly because she hadn't really seemed to find her place in the flock yet. Yes, she was eating and hanging out, whistling her neat whistles, but that's about as plain and simple as it gets. Today Lucy found her place. I have been bringing her in the house during the day to hang out on the perches in the livingroom, but today I decided to take her into our office where PJ (our orange wing amazon hangs out on his gym (formerly Benny's) during the day. They seem a lot alike in many ways so I was hoping they might enjoy each others company. Lucy is hatching into the active, playful, talkative bird I knew she was and is currently shredding a phone book. She's showing off for the gentleman next door. Likewise, PJ who is not a fan of most of our other birds, seems delighted by her presence and is in a very pleasant mood this afternoon, which is a big deal for him and us. I think this will become Lucy's new hang out spot from now on.

Ah, but what Anna didn't tell you is that Lucy found another spot today...on my shoulder! Anna was cleaning her perch and Lucy quite willingly stepped up and climbed to my shoulder with a sort of demeanor that said, "Finally! That's what I was looking for!" And there she stayed.

I've never really had the opportunity to get to know greys (Anna claims that they don't get along with her) but after my experience today I think that somewhere down the line we may end up with one. ;) Birdlover commented about their dignity - that really sums it up well. I will say that I have seen some greys that seem so dignified that they come off as aloof. Lucy is quite the opposite: her demeanor is one of humble brilliance.

Oh, and to show her appreciation for the new digs, we were serenaded for the remainder of the day with excerpts from the "Addams Family" theme...

Of course they are dignified  That is a CAG for you. But then, just play the music and see what happens :dancered: :yeah: :nanr: Sam really goes to town when music is on and it is dancing time. When people first see what they consider a dignified look (they really are just observing things) then they hunker down dancing...well the guests just loose it and bust a gut laughing . The timmies especially are playful. Sam gives hugs, lays his head on my shoulder and says Aw. Not cuddley like a too or macaw but love being with people just the same.

Notice the dignified look (not) of Sam in my avitar.
