Most of you have been with me from the start!
So, as most of you know, I have a rehomed male Moluccan. It's been about 7 months since I got a phone call telling me to 'come get this blankin bird!'
I went and got him and haven't looked back. At the time I didn't know anything more than a guess at his age and his sex, but I knew I had to get him out of the situation he was in. Since then I have used his band to track down his breeder to find out his true age (he is 8, but when I got him I was told he was 4) and have learned a bit about his past. I now know that he has had at least 5 homes in his short life and that he has 'biting' issues. LOL What M2 doesn't?!
There have been times I have wanted to pluck him and times that I just can't get enough of him. I know that all of you here know EXACTLY what I am talking about! ;)
I was thinking of this tonight when i read a private message talking about how bad of a wrap M2's get. I wouldn't know what it is like to have a bird other than an M2 because he is my first cockatoo. I do know, however, that I wouldn't change my decision to go pick him up for anything in the world. We have our bad days, but the good days make them SO worth it.
He has changed a lot since I got him. We see MUCH less biting and agression. I have just decided to go with Tony Evan's motto: We just have to let our too's be too's.
SO happy to have my M2,
bonnie
