Chrissy (ringneck) was running around on my computer desk getting herself into trouble tonight. There she found a variety of hair ties and sticky notes to destroy and/or throw off the edge of the desk. I got new telephones as a christmas gift as our old ones were wearing out and because the new ones are a different color, chrissy did not recognize the telephone sitting on the desk as a phone. Anyone who knows Chrissy knows that the phone is her worst enemy and we have to be careful not to touch one while holding her. Chrissy walked right up to this new phone and started playing with it. She managed to hit the "talk" button and it beeped at her. Suddenly she had a revelation and realized what the evil thing was. She bit her offender with force and then quickly headed for the hills.

What a hoot and thanks for the warning. Leroy (YNA) probably had a phone thrown at him. It only took me three very serious bites to learn not to approach him with a phone. My phone is dead too. I'll get a new one some day. Those who procrastinate should not retire. Whatever comes up, my first thought is, "I'll do that tomorrow." Scarlet had nothing on me.

Well, it seems I have the opposite problem. Whenever the phone rings, most of my birds feel the immediate need for my attention. Linus tries to 'talk' louder than me (you know the mimbly gibberish that toos are so famous for), and the racket makes it impossible for anyone to hear.
Sometimes, if I am talking to someone tolerant of birds, I'll let Linus listen in, but it usually leads to him wanting to take the conversation over completely. He even holds the phone.

Patty,
Peggy Sue screamed whenever her last owner got on the phone. as soon as she came here I made the phone a game. If I was talking to a bird friend i held the phone up to her ear and let her talk. If I was talking to a non birds friend, wherever in the room I was, I looked at peggy and tred to make all of my body language seem like I was talking to her instead of the phone. She says "hello?" now when I'm on the phone, but quit the screaming.

Anna, That's a clever idea - I'll have to try that. Really all he wants is to be the center of the universe, is that asking so much?? :queen:
