Fred removed his collar two nights ago and so far so good. I have been leary of posting this milestone in case he then stated his self mutilating right away. Until now the collar has not been able to be off for more than a few seconds with out him hurting himself. I am realistic and know that by the time I return home today his good spell could be over but I am thinking positively anyway. Here are his before and after pictures. http://s201.photobucket.com/albums/aa264/Firefly_mom/th_DSC08281JPG.jpg (http://s201.photobucket.com/albums/aa264/Firefly_mom/?action=view¤t=DSC08281JPG.jpg) after

Look at that BEAUTIFUL boy. So proud and handsome. His feathers are looking awesome, and he is just so pure white! What a darling boy, just want to snuggle with him on the couch for hours! He is so sweet, even your "no more birds" hubby likes him!
So wonderful that he is feel so self confident and established and safe. Goes to show what a wonderful home full of love, food, and exercise can do to the most difficult of situation.
Congratulations, and keep us posted!

Well hello Patty,
Yes, I have found my way into the website and read & enjoyed many posts.. Now, I have introduced to Linus, but who is Fred... I can figure this is the one who has been sick!
Anyway, will try to give you call this evening..am going up to Burnet tomorrow for daughter's Birthday party...(she's 39 and as I tell her 366 days away from 40) :haha:
Anyway, Tally & I will look so forward to getting to know you as well as other members as time goes by...

Wow Fred! You look amazing. Look how white your feathers are!!! You were all grey and dirty when I last saw you (when you first came home) and now you look great! You sure are a sweet little guy and I'm so glad you have made this milestone, even if you end up back tracking a little along the way. :)

Hey Carole, So glad you made it!! You are going to love everybody here and learn tons!! Look forward to talking to you.
FYI. Carole and I have been in contact for a couple of days, She has A M2 that has screaming issues. Naturally, I invited her here to get some assistance and encouragement.

We welcome you Carole. I am Fred's person I adopted him this spring most unexpectedly. The lady who had him was overextended but sis her very best for him. He is a self mutilating Elanoras cockatoo and so are so pleased with his progress to date. Back in the cone for now but three days off is a big sucess for him.
