she was born on July 7th 2006 but we brought her home on Sept 22--our little bundle of joy..two hrs later I got the call that my father had died...it was almost as if my Dad was saying, here, here love this little birdie...she is my gift...& my mother would have been 91 yesterday...may they rest in peace...the ache is less & while I still have tears for them...and miss them both so very much...they are in a better place...& Sam, well Sam is in the cupboard..sigh....dont know if she will double clutch or not but the little rascal has sure been a godsend to my husband...I cannot tell you how much we love this little rascal..there are not enough words in the world....so thanks Dad....and thanks Sam

Was her personality the same then or has she grown into the Sam we now know and love?

I KNOW that Sam was a real Godsend to you Anne, and she continues to bless you daily. We love her and love knowing her through your stories, but I know that we will never be able to know how deep your families love for each other runs. Today is both a happy and sad day but I know that having Sam to share it with is sure to make you smile either way.

My mother died two weeks after I got Tommie. She kept telling me "She's good company and you are not alone." I promise she held on until she knew I was not alone.

I've fallen in love with Sam from stories here. Some birds are way special. Maybe it is our need that brings that out in them.

Bless you for sharing this. Give Sam a scritch for me, when she will again allow it. Until then, why not give Dub a scritch! Sam gets all the attention! LOL

Sam is special. Through Anne's stories I almost feel like she's mine too. I'm sure we all feel that way. Anne and Dub, thanks for sharing your girl.
