Things are finally settling down here and the toos and grey are settling in just fine. They are all good eaters (even Benny who was a little shy at first is chowing down and getting goofy.)

Lucy, the CAG, makes the most amazing CAG sounds in the morning. I LOVE all of those grey whistles, dings, and clicks. Dolly, M2, is the world champion gold metal winner for whistling and she just goes on and on with her little tunes. She is also the flock chatter box and talks up a storm while dancing around the top of her cage, whipping her head from side to side to show off. Benny, triton, truely is Bat Bird and has already gotten comfortable enough to swing from the doorway of his cage. He is also my company buddy and hangs out on my chair while I'm on the computer. He reminds me of my dear Assam, a too I fostered and raised a few years ago, and that means he already has a special place in my heart. Eve, U2, is a snuggle butt and we shall call her velcro bird. She spent some time this afternoon on the new TV dinner tray perch that andy and I made last week and she liked it so much I had to pry her off when it was time to go back out into the aviary. Here are some pictures and videos of the last couple of days.

How many tooz do you see? Don't say 3, someone will feel left out.

VID: 30 minutes after they arrived. All were doing so well, all things considered. Lucy got left in the dark though, sorry Lucy, my camera doesn't pick up dim light very well!

Anna, thanks for sharing. As heartbreaking as this ordeal has been for Wanda, I hope she can get some relief in knowing that her flock is safe and being cared for by such a phenomenal person with an overabundance of love and understanding.

Wanda, be strong and know you and your babies are in my prayers.

Anna, There's just something about you I guess. How long have Wanda's birds been there? You can tell that they already trust you and feel comfortable. How lucky for those birds that there is an Anna out there.

Anna,

What a gift you are! Thank you for being so helpful and giving with your time and family. Thank you also for being so aware of how hard this has got to be for Wanda and making sure she has these wonerful video's to keep in touch with her whole flock! We are also enjoying her GORGEOUS birds!

Anna makes it easier..knowing they are in really good hands. Videos, a little harder but I need to see them. And guess who was standing right beside me watching...
hmmmm....

Thanks for the updates Anna. I watched them a few times, made me laugh and cry at the same time. YOu are a blessing. Give them hugs and kisses for me.

Yes, that's what I am hoping for. I am moping around -not acting- just getting caught in thoughts of them and he will come up and wave his hands in my face to get my attention and I'll give a weak smile. I am giving it time to set in.... He will see the scar. And, that's exactly what it is. I spoke with Anna today and told her that maybe the best thing is to let it play on him for a bit. Let's just see.

I am doing much better. I wanted you to know and everyone to know. I am good because they are responding so well. I was worried about Benny but he is quickly suckering Anna under his spell too now. She keeps me updated and answers every email and call. I wish I could just adopt her!:p

We all want to adopt Anna, Michelle & you! Oh-and your flocks too. It would be such a hoot to be able to have a face to face with this rowdy group. We would probably get kicked out of a restaurant for laughing too hard!

Could you even imagine!?! It would be SO great for all of us to find a central place and have a weekend together! It would be a WONDERFUL memory!

Wouldn't that be something?! This is such a special group, I would adore meeting everyone. I have met Brenda and Michelle (Tiki's mom, obviously), and what sweethearts they are. I know I would feel the same about the rest of you face to face, though you're right Jill, we probably would get thrown out! We ought to start an annual birdy cookout or something. If we did it in NM, my parents have a 5 acre lot with multiple RV hookups, an indoor hotel sized swimming pool (complete with hot tub) and 4 guest rooms. We could party hardy and have a birdy blast. LOL. And if anyone asks, it was THEM who taught me how to have a good time in the first place!

I feel so loved. You all have been such a blessing to me that I would be happy to help any of you at any time. I really believe in the goodness of people, and just look at the friends I have?

Oh, and Wanda, Bat Too is an absolute riot. He is my new cuddle buddy and acts like such a gentleman...but then...out of nowhere...he turns into Spaz Bird, gets incredibly goofy and puts on the most outrageous display! I love it! He kept harassing me while I swept the aviary today...leaned way off his cage and grabbed me, then ran to the top of his cage to make a scene. He thought he was a star. I thought he was too.

Oh? A pool huh? That settles it. We'll put a trailer there and one next to you. That way Evelyn, the birds and I have a waterfront vacation home too. :D

Benny is funny. He has the most outgoing character of them all. I love to listen to his baby birdie babble. Have you seen him strut? He loves to strut like he's walking a runway with a beat!

FoxersArtist

Yup! He sure has some funny body language. I love the strut and the babble and the first time i heard "How ya doin' doin'?" from a bird other than crissy I was totally tripped out. He is an amazing bird. They all are...but I'm just crazy about his wild personality.

As far as the Happy Birdy cookout, that was a pretty serious remark. If you all want to come, I can probably put it together. :D Though if birdies came along for the ride, they would have to stay at my house. My folks are not into birdy cement poo.

I definitely think we should put something together for this summer. I think it would be a BLAST!!! Oh I would LOVE to actually meet everyone and their wonderful birds. I mean, I know ALL the birds wouldn't be able to come because some of us have so many, but OH it would be fun!

:dancered: We should definitely try to do something. I'm for it. I have one issue though. My son will graduate this year in Michigan and that's early June. And, how hot is the summer in NM? In Texas, in June-August, it's so hot, I can't stand to be outside. But it's humid too, maybe that's it. I would love to visit with people and hang out but I can't take alot of heat... I'll just hang out in Anna's house- with all ya'lls birds (and mine). Somebody has to watch the babies....:hihihi:

It's hot (90-100 degrees) is normal but it's a dry heat with no humidity, which does make a difference. Getting into the car with no A/C can make your head want to pop, but my experience is that dry heat feels much less hot than humid heat. Ask those who live in FL how they do it, yuck!

I would love for everyone to meet the flock. Our guys are such wonderful birdies. I'll see if my folks would be happy to house a few bird nuts for a weekend. They are wonderful, caring people. :)

that would be so COOL :) When I read uncle's post about us to Shane we both nearly started crying. It's been a rough time but knowing you all are around makes it amazing. Wish we had the room to house some bird nutz ourselves =X

I think getting together is a great idea! I vote for Anna's mother's house.

Seriously, there will probably be more of than than her mother can handle. But maybe we could get a group rate at a nearby motel--not the Hilton, but something like a Comfort Inn. Some could stay with Anna's mother (if she's crazy enough to say yes) and the rest of us at the same motel.

I live in Roanoke VA and would have to fly in, as probably would others, but if we can make plans far enough in advance to take advantage of special rates, the cost probably wouldn't be so bad.

The alternative is to select a place sort of in the middle between everybody, but I think going to Anna's is worth traveling farther.

I talked with mom this morning and she said she thought having you all would be a fantastic idea, but it would have to be after june. She did clarify that he birds would have to stay with me. :)We could have a single person stay here as we have a smaller mattress that could be put in katies room...but my folks also have an rv with 2 more double beds and a single. they have family reunions at their house and they can fit A LOT of folks!

Counting it out, I think they would have room for 7 couples...We would have room for a single unless we could get a larger mattress. We'll be the birdy resort instead. ;)

This sounds like fun!!!! See, I'm lucky, I live about 30 mins from Anna and I get to play with her flock quite a bit. I still get a little nervous even though I LOVE the birdies, I'm still so new to birds i have to learn to read their body language better. Which is weird.. cause I know how my flock feels and what they're going to do before they do it.. Anna's Chrissy and I have some intimiate conversation about the many evils of telephones quite often :)
