Does anyone have any interesting things thier birds do that is a 'human habit'?
For example, Chicken likes to drink out of a cup. If I am drinking something in front of him I have to give him water from a cup just like mine.

Harry is a cup addict also, anything for a sip out of a glass or cup or bottle. Water is fine but he loves Chamomile tea. i suspect because it is warm. He does spill :toofunny:more than he drinks.

LOL. Chicken is really good at it. I'll hold it up and tip it and he'll drink it. He doesn't spill unless he grabs the cup and tries to take it away, then the game is over hehe.

Whenever I am giving a voice lesson, Harry a tiel and Sami a grey decide it's time to sing with us. Harry sings soprano and Sami sings the first four notes of Beethoven's 5th Symphony in the right key and like a chicken. "Buck , Buck, Buck, Bwaaaaaah!
3 E-flats and a C, you could tune a piano based upon his notes:-)

hehehe Stella MUST help me hold the glass while I fill it with water from the frig, then she insists on the 1st drink. After all... it WAS for her!
I am still trying to get pics of this, it's just TOO cute! I need more practice at taking a picture with my left hand.
When I approach Fergie (Scarlet) with a glass, she says, "What's that?" then has a drink. When I approach Blusher (RFM), she says, "Want some?" The Amazons just drink. No foreplay for them.
All of mine will take a bite of yogurt or ice cream from a spoon.
The first time I offered ice cream to Leroy (YNA), to my surprise, she took the spoon! She held it so sweetly as she ate her ice cream.
I don't offer my bowl of taco salad to them anymore. I used to put the BFA and the Scarlet Macaw on the table with the bowl in front of me. Fergie walked over to get some, but Tommie ran over, dived her head in, pulling out as much as she could and stepped away to deposit it on the table to consume. Fergie had stepped back and watched in awe. Finally she decided it was safe to get a bite. Wrong. Tommie had finished her "beakful" and ran to the bowl and all but dived in head first, emerging with another huge "beakful" as Fergie backed away again in awe. This continued until I knew Tommie had eaten too much all ready and I put them back in their jails. Now I just make a tiny taco for each one and put it in her dish.
Leroy, if allowed to, would drink coffee from the cup. Her previous owner let her do that. I don't. Somehow, she survived.

Cody raises his foot and wiggles his toes and says Hi or Hello to greet visitors when they arrive and will do the same physical action but says Bye Bye when they are leaving.

In the same night, I took a picture, downloaded to my pc, then posted it. Amazing! :haha:
Now, if it worked, you'll see Stella taking a drink from her glass of water.

Peggy sue brushes her beak, sound effects and all. She also holds her wing up to her ear and says "hello" into her make believe "phone." Cooper (cockatiel) used to give a high 4 with her left foot. Orbit dances like a rock star and plays the drums with his beak. And worst of all...the macaws sing like Andy.

Gaynor, one of my male M2s, will not take any food with his beak he has to have the food given to him via his foot. I call him my English Gentleman.

It's not a human trait, but Linus barks if he hears something in the middle of the night. Fine with me, but I wish he'd imitate a bigger dog.
