If you are owned by an Amazon, this is a hoot. Larry, I hope it makes you smile (and everyone else, too). :haha:

Thanks Dot - that made me smile.

My first parrot was a Zon - a Blue Front I named Terri. That was over 25 years ago. Didn't know much about birds then... and I miss her to this day.

That article was very good, and I agree "In essence, the bird that bites needs to be handled more, and not less"

My kinda talk.

That was a fun article...and really encouraging, actually. Our OW amazon has been real hormonal/hurt for a while now. He got a big ego about himself because he was allowed to sit at eye level with us, so we de-throned him. This obviously did not go well at all and after experiencing PJ, the amazing can opener, the stick became our friend. The funny thing really is that when he used to be up high we would talk sweet to him and he would nail us in an instant. I decided this stick stuff just had to go, no bird of mine would live under this roof wihout politely stepping up, so I decided to try the nice card again. What do you know, he's been stepping up like a gentleman ever since. They really are pretty forgiving once we humans get wise and figure out what's eating them.

My female yellow napes are the best birds in my house. I can still handle my breeding female when she has babies in the nest box. Her 2.5 year old daughter is a fantastic bird. They are both fantastic birds actually. The only time I really get a BITE is when they are trying to demonstrate their toughness to another bird or animal using my flesh for the demo. Otherwise, they are pure sweetness....or close to it. Diva's halo is slightly crooked.
