I've been letting Blossom and Molly's room get light and dark with natural lighting. After it's dark outside, I rarely turn on the light to check them before I go to bed. When go to their cages and say goodnight to them, in the dark, they respond with barely audible whispers. They have never screamed or talked in the normal daylight voices once the room is dark.

Is this a Macaw thing or do I have two feathered scaredy cats?

I am sometimes told "Night night" when I move around too much. It is in a sleepy voice, but it is not a whisper.

That's so sweet! Birds have such unique personalities. I've never had Daisy whisper specifically at night, but she doesn't talk after the lights are out. She does get right down cheek to cheek with me when she's on my shoulder and whispers, 'hi Daisy'. The best feeling in the world.
