This weekend I was making a pasta salad and Stella & Cassie were "helping" me. As I stood at the kitchen counter rinsing carrots and slicing them I had Cassie on my shoulder and my right leg propped up on the counter for Stella to stand on. {this was a tricky position} We stood there for about 10 minutes and they were such GOOD birdies :angwing:. They each had their own carrot but watched momma intently to make sure she did the job right. :)

I can almost picture that in my head-Harry loves to help in the kitchen-wants too eat & drink all he shouldn't :toofunny: & try to get between the knife & what I'm slicing. It's wonder we ever get dinner, he always eats first! :leye:

Brenda,

Sounds like you had a wonderful evening with the girls!!!

What is it with the birds and cooking in the kitchen? My grey will be on her kitchen stand for hours on the off chance one of us will come in there and open a drawer, pour a glass of something, put away the dishes. She sits there and asks "what r doin?" untill you respond. She is entertained for HOURS if I spend an afternoon baking, and always on very best behaviour.....

Stella just loves to sit on my arm while I fill a glass of water from the frig, she watches intently while awaiting the 1st drink. She puts her beak on the glass as if she's holding it too while it fills.
I'm not sure I could get things done without help from the birds.:dnzr:

Awee that was such a cute story!

Solo my Too will try (and has done it) to grab a knife and fly with it (not joking). He is obesessed with them and it scares me. Our knife block is covered with a towel as he will not leave them alone!

My Carl is obsessed with mechanical pensils and pens. He will snatch them up in a jiffy. :snky: When we first brought him hom, I think we had him for only 2 days, I did not realize he had this "habbit" and he grabbed a blue ink pen, ripped off the top metal piece and rubbed blue ink all over his chest.....
What a mess!:madd:

Knives??? Kristy. I hope they're all under lock and key before you go to bed . . . but then again, if these guys can escape locked cages, the knife safe is probably a walk in the park for them. :hide:

LOL, he has gotten ahold of one (many times but this once) and he was flying with it, like straight at us while we were sitting on the couch...what to do?? I was like frozen...he dropped it right beside my leg in mid flight and it hit the leather couch (didn't go in thankfully). I was so thiking ER visit.

Hmmmm . . . New Years Resolutions-
1. Make appointment for evaluation of psychopathic behavior of pet birdy.
2. Go on Amazon.com and order Kevlon Body Armour suits for entire family.

Closest I can come to that is a Yellow Lab we rescued who ran through the house with scissors in his mouth. Open scissors ran right at us  & he was so happy! No injuries from this incident. Have to pretend he was a bird. When we first picked him up we called him Bravo- after this and other incidents we changed it to Dufus. :bouncing:

Cassie will do the same thing! She loves pens! Gotta get them. I keep ones around that have the ink cartrage removed.
