She is talking and mumbling more. She lets me get her off her cage and last nite, for the first time, she let me pick her up to put her back. I am so excited. I usually enlist the help of whoever is around and we would have to towel her, after we caught her. This is so much easier. BTW, I found out why the old owners sold her, she is a screamer. I think she just wants attention. I have been ignoring her, turning my back and leaving but paying a lot of attention to her when she says hello. I go get her and we do fun stuff together. The screaming is awful. Will she train the other birds to do it? Please say "no". I am excited about the progress tho.

Cheryl,

I do not have a screamer, so I do not know the answer for you on that front.

Congrats on the progress with Bindi! That is so awesome that you two have grown so much in such a short period of time. Anything is possible, and as fast as she is progressing I'm sure you'll get the screaming under control.

I am hoping and praying that we do. The other family members are not thrilled about her screaming, including my grey, Pepper. She tells Bindi to "stop that" and "be nice."

Sounds like my Grey.... Most common phrase in our house is "Amy.... Pede.... No screaming" in hubbys deep voice.... LOL! Just give her time, she is still scared and nervous too....

Ignoring Bindi is the best thing you can do. NEVER give her attention for the scream. Any attention you give her will undo the work you've done. It took months to work through Chicken's screaming, don't give up!

It also took me months to get Linus to stop. But once the light bulb went of in his head and he realized that the screaming thing wasn't working out, he stopped. Good luck!

Progress can seem so slow when you are bombarded with sound but hang in there you can do it! Take a walk outside when it gets bad our Harry and Bonnies Chicken both had to realize that screaming gets them no where not even eye contact.
