At first, I thought she was crazy. Who in their right mind spends 3 days dying wood? Anyway, This morning momma put a brand new toy in my cage that she made with all the wood she's been working on. It's HUGE!!! I just wanted to show you all my new toy. Momma said it's just for me and I don't even have to share with stinky old Daisy! I've already torn some wood off it!

Wow, that toy is bigger than you are....
Next task.... After your next shower, rub up and down all over your new toy, and you can match mommie's toes!!!!!
Awesome job Bonnie, it looks like a ton of fun with all those different size/shape pieces!

WOW!! I would love to learn how to make something like that. We just have our first bird and hope to foster and hopefully adopt a few more. We have discussed the addition of a "bird room" lol. Once the kennel is complete outside I think we will have one. But please how in the world do you make something like that....feel free to email me if you would and let me know. I am very interested in learning to make our own toys for our new babies.

What kind of birds do you have?
For the toy in the pic I started with a square of 2X4 that had 7 holes drilled in it. You can go with less if you want, but that's what I did. There were three holes down each side and one in the middle. In the middle hole I made a loop to hang the toy and with the other holes I just knotted the leather and let it hang down. I took leather straps (be sure you go with veggie tanned leather) and beaded it with the wood pieces I ordered from Casey's wood products. I just kept adding leather straps to make it the size I wanted it.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask . The board is full of people that have many wonderful toy ideas!

Chicken,
Did you say "who in their right mind"? Who were you referring to? There's no one around here like that.
