Sydney my lonely Harlequin Macaw who joined me 2 1/2 years ago.She is now 10 years old and she was rehomed because she was constantly attacking her previous owner's 2 Cockatoos.Well life hasn't been easy living with her considering I have a zoo inside our home.She has spent most of her time outside of the cage trying to go after the birds that shared a room with her.(3 other Macaws,a Senegal,Cockatiel,2 Amazons)Luckily this was useless.Well she spend most of her first couple years trying to get me as well.You should of seen me trying to feed her.So now all the Macaws say MOVE!Well finally after all this time she allowed me to pick her up without getting bitten.Boy was I in shock.I thought for sure like the last couple of times she would hold on and bite.But guess what over a period of time she proved me wrong.Now I can reach in her cage no lunging,no biting or anything.All to my surprise.I had my bestfriend over and she couldn't believe this was the same bird that she bird sat for.To prove a point I even took her to visit her previous owner Sue who was also in shock.When I left the room she gave Sue a nasty bite.So I guess Sydney has chosen me.:clapping:Only time will tell.:confused:
