I brought Theo to stay with someone for a while to hopefully let Linus have a break from his hormones. I hope she's not really scared. There's a big hole in the living room where her cage was.

Oh Patty God bless you, I know you miss her. I would miss one of mine if I had to do the same thing, even the OWA I just got a couple of weeks ago. You are doing the right thing ... its the only way to know if it will make a difference or not.

::Big hugs::
I know this was a very hard decision for you to make but surely you must know how selfless you are for putting Linus' needs first. His body is overloaded and on top of being sick, he can really use a little relief. Theo will be fine and hopefully other arrangements can be made soon. We are all behind you and here for you when you need us. Let us know how Linus and Theo are doing.

Hey Patty,
If it's any consolation, I support your decision to place Theo in another home at this time. It will give you the opportunity to give Linus 100% of your attention - which he dearly needs.
I know you miss Theo and I am sure Linus does too, but we sometimes have to do what's best for the moment. He does not feel well - but I am certain he will come out of all this just fine.
Big hugs to you and give my buddy Linus extra hugs.

You are strong and we all realize how difficult this must be. Sending all the best wishes and prayers for a happy and speedy recovery for Linus so Theo can rejoin your household, knowing she will never leave your heart.

Oh Patty, I coudn't imagine having to do that; it's a hard thing to have to do but Linus needs some TLC and I'm sure you found a good place for Theo to have a vacation. :hugz: let us know how things are going.

Linus is doing well. His attitude is improving daily. We had a set back the other day when he just turned mean and aggressive without warning and I got a bite, but he was repentant and wanted to make up right away. That's a big change for the better. He is so much less stressed and on edge. I haven't had any problem medicating him - we only have a few days of medicating left to go. Then it's back to the vet for more testing to check his progress. It's been a long month.
Theo is doing very well. She is getting lots of attention and having new experiences and is loving it. I miss her so much. I only go to see her every couple of days because I don't want to confuse or stress her. She's having a ball...I'm the one confused and stressed.
The guy who is taking care of her lost his father about 6 months ago and his disabled mother is having a hard time getting around. He warned me that he might have to leave for NY to stay with his mom for a while. I will have to bring Theo back in this event. I don't know his wife that well and don't feel very comfortable with her level of bird experience although she is really loving having Theo there.
I am worried about what this might do to the progress I have made with Linus.
But, all in all, things are much better. Thanks for asking.

Well Patty... all of us started out with zero bird experience. It was our love and affection for those balls of feathers that got us through the beginning times. So - the wife might surprize you.
It's so good to hear that Linus is on the better track. Please keep us posted.

So glad to hear that Linus has had a better tude lately, seems like such a rough road to travel along, especially with him being sick. The removing of stress for him is probably helping wonders with his health!
Take it day by day, and do the best we can for them each day. You are a wonderful birdie mommie, and Linus and Theo both love you for it!

Thanks. I'm running some poop over to the vet later today. Just waiting for that "perfect" sample. We'll have to xray him again for the dialated proventriculus (hopefully formerly dialated).
Larry, you are right everyone begins with having no experience and it's not really fair of me. However, I could live with her getting her experience with someone else's bird. Things happen when they are even in the best of care. I know this first hand and am a little paranoid. Alright, a lot.

. I know this first hand and am a little paranoid. Alright, a lot.
And think how paranoid she is knowing that you are who you are!!!!!
If she is a caring animal lover like the rest of us she will grow so fond of her, so quickly, that she will be reading up and learing as much as possible. I'm just tickled that you are still so close to her just in that case!

Okay - you got me there... I am laughing on that one because it is so true... "make your mistakes on your own bird - not mine" is our motto.
I would be paranoid too... bless you dear.
