There are always two things that confirm that one of my fosters has chosen a new mate. 1) The bird almost instantly hurks on the visitor. 2) By the time my guests have left, I have a nice welt or am bleeding profusely from some area. :D
In this case, both signs were confirmed! Poppy and I were really getting to be buddies, so we'll see if the dynamic changes now that I have seen him with another "bird."
Popeye had an interview with the young man this afternoon as he has been looking for a macaw. He was raised with a military and has been looking for one of his own since he moved away from home. He has a great deal to learn about birds, so I told him that if he was serious about committing to Popeye, he would need to show it by coming regularly to visit and learn. He promised to go get a copy of the parrot problem solver and is eager to do research. I think if he follows through and gets to know Popeye and how to handle birds better, he will be a fine home. Hurray, Popeye!
