. . . . what does it mean? I've heard references to birds blushing or being in full blush. I've noticed that sometimes Blossom has a pinkish color above and around her eyes and sometimes all the white soft skin of her face. Is this what is meant by a blush and what does it mean?

It's not as easy to notice in B&G macaws, but when Peggy blushes, you can see a faint difference between white and pinkish white. Some species, like militaries, blue throats, and red fronts really show a bright red blush. Every time I have experienced this, they are just really excited, usually in a happy way. :) I love to watch Popeye blush when he knows I'm smitten with him.

Blossom seems to want more attention from me than Molly does. When I'm talking or singing  to Blossom, Molly will patiently watch till it's her turn. Blossom becomes very vocal and flaps her wings and says "Hi" or "Hellloooo" while hanging by her beak when I talk to or scratch Molly's head. She definitely seems more needy in the attention department.

Isn't it just great!?! I don't know about you and Cloud, but Chicken is just so cuddly and doesn't play much. He very rarely gets excited. It's so fun to watch Daisy be silly!

The blush can mean they are excited, or, as my vet's assistant is quick to add, they are ticked off! I couldn't find a good one of Blusher, but her face gets so red that even the skin around her eyes turns red. LOL Below is what a Scarlet Macaw looks like when blushing.

Thought I would change my avatar while I was at it, but didn't notice that Fergie is not centered. I'll find another one tomorrow.
