I need to know a safe air fresher that i can spray around my birds. I have cockatoos, conures, parrotlets, cocketails, lovebirds, ringneck parakeets and blueheaded poinus. I know there is something that I can use but don't remember what it is.
Thanks ahead of time.

I believe the one that is safest is Zero Odor you can only purchase it on line, biodegradable & non-toxic. Perhaps someone else has another suggestion or additional information.

I am ultra-cautious when it comes to any man-made substance.

I never spray anything around or near Baby. I do use air-freshener spray in the trash basket... but I take it outside to do the spraying.

Most use vinegar as a cleaning agent... I do as well. I learned that from Birdie (Brenda). And after I clean the cage - it smells like a salad. :D

Oh by the way --- the best air-freshner is a good air-purifier placed in the bedroom and another placed in the bird room.

I forgot-you can simmer some sliced lemons in water on your stove, or cinnamon or even vanilla in water. I used to groom pets at home & then I simmered Vinegar on the stove, smells like a pickle to start with but when you are done the house smells fresh. The hot vinegar is also good for your drains or to remove stains from your pot.

But one without ozone. :)

What is the ratio of vanilla extract to the water?

Don't use anything in an aerosol, no matter how safe it is supposed to be. That doesn't mean non-aerosols are safe. Most anything that has an artificial fragrance is bad.

Baking soda is supposed to absorb odors. I use it in my refrigerator. Never tried it with the birds.

We just put several drops per bottle.I learned this on an Eclectus site who are real sensitive to different things.
