View Full Version : How do I take something off my start-up menu?
I downloaded something to convert CDs to mp3s for slide shows and it automatically put it in my start up.

Navigate to the item in your StartUp and do a right click and then select Delete.

But where is my StartUp, my list of things that automatically start when I turn on the computer?

Start button in bottom left
Settings button, probably around the center of the list
Task bar, and start menu option
Click on Start Menu tab along the top.....
that is about as much as I know, hope it helps....

Another way to get there...
Click Start
Navigate to Programs
Navigate to Startup
A flyout menu will appear
Move your mouse over the item you wish to delete.
Right click on that item and select delete.

I don't think I explained this right. I don't want to delete the program. I don't have very much on my StartUp. Outlook Express, Mozilla, and probably the MS stuff. I don't even have Adobe on it. When I turn on my computer, I want my computer right then. That is why I don't have much on StartUp. I just want this program to be available to me, but when I turn on the computer, I don't want to have to wait for it to load.

HI Dot,
You asked it all right. What I instructed you to do will delete the shortcut to the program out of your Startup section - but not the program itself.
Shortcuts are what points to the program and not the program.

I am not talking about short cuts. I give up. I'll ask Beau next time I see him.

All the items/icons in the Programs sections (Start/Programs) are all shortcuts.
