Welcome tothe flock Roscoe! Indeed, orange wing he is, and a beautiful one at that!
Orange wing amazons are my favorite type of amazon. They have all of the personality of the other zons but they do not usually carry that hot-temper like the DYH, BF or MRH varieties. Orange wings who are well socialized love to fluff up their little heads (they look like halk-heads when they do this) and have a good rub. Our orange wing, PJ, even loves a good foot massage from time to time.
Orange wings are perch potatoes so finding new ways to get him moving will be good for him as well as a low fat diet. It all depends on what you believe is best for your bird, but we have had great success with controling amazon diet by using mostly pellets. A lot of amazons act picky about fresh food that is offered but will then sneak over to their bowl to check out their tasty food once they think no one is watching. They are not known for their talking ability and i have heard of very few that talk at all, but our orange wing is completely captivated by sounds and making popping sounds and clucks like a chicken. This guy will be happy to sit on your knee and watch TV with you for hours, or sit at the dinner table and share a meal.
They can come off as a bit crabby but don't let that fool you. Orange wings are soft hearted and approval seeking and buttering him up will be the key to winning his heart. We usually sit and talk to PJ in a sweet, sing songy tone about how handsome he is and then put our hand above his head, rubbing fingers together. If he wants to be loved he'll bow his head and fluff all his feathers out.
Here is a recent picture of our OW, PJ

Amazons can be grumbly; they are easier to read than TOOZ, when their tail flairs and their eyes dialate it can mean 2 things~ you will become acustomed to which it is in short time. They are either VERY excited to see you or they are ready to bite. My OWA will growl rather than bite, and once in a great while he'll nip but he's never bitten me although he has pinched me once. My hubbys mealy zon has bitten me, and an amazon bit is NOT a nice thing; they bite and grind and don't let go right away. If you ever get a bite don't pull away, push into the bite and he will release sooner. {just trust me on that}
Does Roscoe talk? mine says a few words, but can whistle up a storm! My FIL comes over and will whistle a short tune and it is returned back at him!
Anything specific you want to know?
I'll post a picture sometime later when I find it.

He can say what ya doing and hello he can make the sound of a horse a pig police car he meows like a cat and he barks.... oh and he can wolf whistle...
He will try any food I offer him but he really seems to like pellets mostly...
I have four granddaughters here visiting so I will be checking in from time to time not as often as usual ... I appreciate all your input .. I have a lot to learn about him... so far I have not handled him and I was thinking of waiting till the girls go home before I try ... what do you all think?

I am not 100% sure of what he is, I was going by what someone here said he was... when I posted pics the last time....
Chrissy, welcome to The Dark Side. :D Zons get such a bad reputation. They are angels, but they just don't look like clouds, like the tooz.

Thanks Dot, I hope I can do right by this guy ... he has been known to put some serious hurt on one lady...
Here are some better pics of him ... one is a pic of the ring on his leg, any input on that would be appreciated. Someone said he might be a blue front... if anyone can tell for sure by these pics what he is please tell me...

That looks like an open ban which means he was wild caught. And that is not a BFA. It is an Orange Wing.

Thanks Dot, I thought thats what that band was ... Anna had said OWA but someone else then said he didnt look like hers that he looked more like a BFA ... I sure am glad to hear I got the softee of the species ... I am looking forward to handling him, I am just not sure about doing it while I have so much going on at my house... 3 teenagers and an 8 yr old.
Is there any certain foods better than others for him besides the pellets... he had pellets the other day for the first time in his life and he loves them. I gave him a mixture of Roudybush, Pretty Bird for tiels and Zupreem for tiels ... he tried them all and he will at least taste everything I offer him.

Orange wing, top left, blue front, bottom right:
Notice the distinct blue bar on the front of the BFA forehead. It is solid and not splotchy and a rich blue color. Also notice that these guys have a big yellow spot on the shoulder and if you open up the wing there is a distinct red spot on the inside of the wing. Orange wings have orange areas on the outside of the wing but you will notice that the BFA appear to have solid green wings (except for that shoulder) when their wings are folded. See how the OW has almost a lilac coloring near his eyes with splotchy yellow feathers in the center of the forehead? Also, the BFA has a solid yellow mask. Orange wing amazons have a similar color of yellow but they also have patches of vibrant orange feathers that blend into those yellow feathers, making the cheeks look more orange. finally, blue fronts do not have orange markings on their tail like the orange wings. They have red markings on a few of their inside tail feathers, but you can clearly see the orange on an orange wings tail because most or all of their tail feathers have orange on them. finally, Orange wings have greyish beaks, sometimes with a bit of tan mixed in. Blue fronts have solid black beaks. Ok...so now that I have totally bored you...enjoy the picture. I hope that helps!

Not a bit bored Anna I truly thank you for the visual, I had been trying to find good pics online to compare him too and you hit it right there. Are both of those yours they are truly beautifu....

Beware! That is an Amazon. He will eat anything and he will eat all that you put in his bowl. Do not overfeed. Amazons tend to be chunky because they are such good eaters.

Awww Chrissy. He's just beautiful. Linus also has an open band. It's a quarantine band. My understanding is that it doesn't automatically mean he was wild caught, but was imported from somewhere.
